After an intense and exciting season, BULERS' virtual rally championship, known as the SIMGEAR Rally Cup, concluded with extraordinary drama in the final round. The title was decided literally in the last round – Rally Bulgaria, where the two leading contenders, Kamen Stoychev and Finnish driver Ate Tahvanainen, went head-to-head.
In the fierce battle, Tahvanainen, attempting to compete with a less powerful R4-class car, made a mistake that allowed Stoychev, driving an R5 car, to solidify his position. After 16 asphalt stages with variable conditions, including night sections, Kamen Stoychev triumphed with a convincing lead and claimed the championship title.
Second place was secured by last year’s champion Dimitar Dimitrov, while Greek driver Theodore Kapornyotis achieved his best result of the season, finishing third.
Drama in the R4 Class
The R4 class also provided thrilling competition. Finnish driver Ate Tahvanainen, Hristo Ichov, Theodore Kapornyotis, and other drivers fought for every position. Ultimately, the top three were Kapornyotis, Ichov, and Sentkovski.
